This week Mark Wahlberg gave an interview to Task & Purpose this week in which he sounded off on the celebrities who talk so much about politics––and why they maybe shouldn’t. In talking about all the celebrities who railed against Donald Trump during the election, Wahlberg said this: “A lot of celebrities did, do, and shouldn’t,” he told Task & Purpose last week, at a swanky luncheon in New York, held on behalf of his upcoming film “Patriots Day.” We were talking about the parade of actors and musicians who lined up to denounce Donald Trump in the months and weeks leading up to Election Day. “You know, it just goes to show you that people aren’t listening to that anyway,” he continued. “They might buy your CD or watch your movie, but you don’t put food on their table. You don’t pay their bills. A lot of Hollywood is living in a bubble. They’re pretty out of touch with the common person, the everyday guy out there providing for their family. Me, I’m very aware of the real world. I come from the real world and I exist in the real world. And although I can navigate Hollywood and I love the business and the opportunities it’s afforded me, I also understand what it’s like not to have all that.” Wahlberg himself was not very vocal about the election, save for some brief apolitical remarks about one time he met with Trump. www.mediaite.com/online/mark-...-out-of-touch/

Idk how I feel about this. On the one hand it's a good move for business, on the other hand it's good for us as consumers to know who not to give our money to.
Fuck him though. Isn't he the racist that beat those people up?

Isn't he the racist that beat those people up?Exactly. Which is exactly why he has no say in this matter. He's a terrible person. No one can convince me otherwise. Celebrities can talk about politics, as long as their opinions are informed and intelligent. Too many of them (like this one here) stick their commentary in with no further thought to what they are saying.

Given his history of racism.....I need to know the specific question that prompted this response. The article was very vague. I know I am right, but I want to be sure before I drag him.
