I'm curious about what the experience is like and how long it lasted.

I had to look it up. Yes I had a stylist who did this, haven't found one since they moved away who could do it. It would last me like 2 or three weeks. Of course my edges would start to revert and so would my roots, but it was still cute. Towards the end I would do half up styles or just put it in a ponytail.

Isn't the process just a stylist using a high quality hot comb or something? I've never had my hair "pressed", at least not that well.

I haven't had one since middle school. It lasted a day and a half. It looked so good too! I want to get a Dominican blow out next. Maybe do it myself at home with some rollers. I don't want to put heat on my hair

Isn't the process just a stylist using a high quality hot comb or something? I've never had my hair "pressed", at least not that well. A marcel iron was used. What makes the difference in a press and curl and silk press from what I read are the products used (they also said a flat iron vs a hot comb). My former stylist used a marvel iron and what ever product was used (I don't know what it was) came in a spray bottle. It very well may have been some sort of oil. My hair was so silky smooth I felt I was in a commercial at all times lol. If I turned my head casually it was like my hair effortlessly swang around lmao. Your hair is very light and shiny when done properly.

I don't want to put heat on my hair I want to try a ponytail roller set. I guess the ponytails are supposed to smooth your roots then you add the rollers.

What...is a Dominican blow out?
I want to start wearing wigs and weaves, but that is tedious too.
