Brandy had been wanting to do a sequel to The Boy is Mine for quite some time, while Monica felt otherwise. When Brandy joined RCA in 2011 and the opportunity presented itself to Monica to package the two as a duo for the release of both their albums in the same year. Monica recruited Rico Love for the comeback single, which was a mistake because the song was not up to the same quality as the darkchild single. When the song flopped, Monica had made some comments on a 105.5 interview with Angie Martinez about a physical altercation with Brandy that the public never knew about. In my opinion, that's where Monica's resentment about the failed venture started to take place. A duo tour never took place, and RCA halted promotion on Brandy's album Two Eleven. When RCA felt the two were not as viable individually or packaged together as pitched before, they wanted to cut their losses. Monica, having a longer standing relationship with RCA and Clive Davis made a plea. Unfortunately Brandy's distribution deal was terminated, forcing Breyon Prescott, head of Chameleon Entertainment to seek distribution elsewhere or let his only active artist on his roster go completely. Which brings us to this lawsuit between Breyon and Brandy in 2016.
