Any painters, drawers, sculptors on here? Or any lovers or art? I dabble in a little of everything although I'm trying to expand my skill with the more time I have.

I'm not advanced or proficient by any means, but I sometimes enjoy painting and drawing or sketching! I would like to improve, but I can be a bit of a perfectionist so when something doesn't come out the way I want it to, I get very frustrated and can't draw or paint for a few days or weeks afterward.

What kind of paintings do you paint? Or drawings? I tend to lean more towards impressionist but before I can paint something like this
I need better tools. Hahah I guess we both need to work on some patience because I'm the exact same way. Only difference is there's a bunch of broken canvases and torn paper on the floor from all the times I tried to get it right. I can't stop until I do. Do you ever go on DeviantArt? The art there is so crazy!

I'm into abstract painting with no real subject because that's really all I can do. That picture you posted is so beautiful, wow! For drawings I usually just try to draw famous people, and it's usually not entirely accurate but I am trying! That piece has so much color going on. The trees and the sky looks like a huge triangular rainbow or kaleidoscope! Do you know who created that?
What kind of tools do you have right now? I have a small artists box full of acrylic paints and brushes, and that's about it. I want to improve my drawing with no. 2 pencils before going onto Prisma Colors and the like so I don't waste money and get frustrated ha! Patience with my art is definitely something that I need to work on. When I was younger I used to ball up the paper and toss it to the side too!
DeviantArt makes me so jealous, but yes I have been on there before! There are some things on there called plz icons which I like to use as small reaction pictures, so I go on there once every blue moon. I was thinking about installing those icons on the forum, but I think I will do that later on.

I would love to take a painting class. I've taken pottery classes, that's a lot of fun...messy, but fun.

Yeah I love doing abstract paintings that have a mechanistic outlook to them, the differing parts of the painting are greater than its whole. It's by Leonid Afremov. He's one of my favorite painters. He has a really unique style. Here's a video of his technique...it looks simple but you know the simplest things can be the most difficult

I usualy draw nature. Lol its the best I can do at the moment. If I tried to draw someone famous, I would butcher it seriously. It does look like a kaleidoscope. I love how he uses so many colors and they blend to create the image.
I have brushes and paint, some glasses to be broken, easel and that's about it. I want to draw with those really thin sharpie pens, I've seen some cool drawings with them. You should try and get them! It would be nice to experiment with some new tools! Cheers to us lazy and impatient heauxs :arrogant:
Oh I've heard of that! Isn't there an art studio that you can download on there too? I've worked on there before but haven't created anything substantial. I look forward to seeing the icons!

I've taken pottery since elementary school, it was apart of our curriculum. Back in elementary school I would also make wind chimes lol idk how well they would work though. I took it as an adult at a community college.

Here..I'll embed the video Edit: Only a few seconds in and I'm already liking his style and technique! I need to become more familiar with artists and fashion designers. I've never really kept up with them before. Do you like graphic art? I try to find speed painting or speed photoshop videos as a way to relax. CreativeStation has the best supply, but something changed about the quality of the channel compared to when I first started watching. It might just be me though. Do you draw animals too, or just plant life, forests, and that sort of thing? I might have to try my hand at that..What are they called? Have you ever used copic markers? I want to get my hands on a set of those! An art studio? I'm not that familiar with DeviantArt so I have no idea? Is it some kind of software like photoshop, or a store? blackonblack I wish I was a carpenter so I could make everything in my house. That would be dope!

Pinterest is your friend. That's how I know about so many artists and fashion designers. I have a fashion board and a painting board on there and the suggestions give you ideas about different artists and designers. Also checking out similar boards. I'm just getting into graphic art actually. I'll check those videos out! I'll check that site out as well.
Plant life, forests, different buildings, paths, etc. I also draw a lot of abstract stuff as well. Lol they probably have a name but I don't know it. I really want some copic markers after checking them out. Let me just add them to my post holiday gift list. It's kind of like a software but its on the site. You don't have to download anything and it saves all images either to your DA page or your computer. If you like graphic art, you'll love it.

For YouTube videos, just put the link between video tags:

You know..I have a Pinterest account. I just don't use it. It seems like a really fun site too! Is it good for meeting new people as well or just pictures? Sounds like it would be better inspiration for fashion and design than Tumblr, because I can't seem to find really good, really active blogs.
What are your favorite kind of paints to use (if you have one)? I like to use acrylic the most. I would say watercolors, but you have to be really confident in autonomous brush strokes a lot.
I think I have a DevArt account too, but I can't remember it because it has been at least a year since I logged in.

I began with traditional painting when I was just 11 years old. Primarily focused on landscapes and stills. Then I transitioned into digital art. My style tends to lean towards 3 poly and vexel, and vector work. Here is an example of a vexel I did about 2-3 years ago. It is in gif form:

I wish I could do that. I tried digital art out when I had a tablet through the Autodesk Sketchbook Pro app, and while I was good for a beginner, I did need tons of practice and a better stylus instead of my finger.

I tried digital art out when I had a tablet through the Autodesk Sketchbook Pro app, and while I was good for a beginner, I did need tons of practice and a better stylus instead of my finger. It took about 3 weeks, 4 hours per day. I have another piece that took a month to complete, but if I post it it is very easily for someone to reverse search and find out who I am :what??: Such a shame, cause I like sharing art and looking at others work. I used a Wacom tablet & stylus. Doing this type of tedious work with a mouse is a pain in the ass Vectors were a little easier for me to understand because I am working with shapes, instead of a digital brush. I just layer shapes on top of one another to get a unique choppy-blended effect, instead of trying to use a palette of different shades to blend everything. I have a bit more control of color placement, if that makes any sense and can easily move shapes by altering their anchor points. I love doing hair :excitement: I draw everything individually. I encourage you to try your hand at it again. I think I downloaded a similar app on my cellphone. Using a finger is ridiculous though, and I have skinny fingers haha
