sammy and me had one date and we realized that we should never date and that was out of the way, so he became curious in what i wanted to do and was helpful and introduced me to some of the people he knew and he took me to a couple of screenings and i met frank Sinatra. It was a friendship with a man who was very strange when it came to women, he said "theres one thing about diahann that i will always hold against her , shes a professional virgin and they're a bore" i accepted that and took it as a compliment and said "thank you very much" since there are a lot of other things that could happen to a young women in Los angeles that could be much worse that having that reputation.



sammy had company every night, sammy was SAMMY, he was bigger than life, he was funny,loving,smart, self destructive , curious which made people want to be around him, he was having a party and said "theres someone who would like to meet you ", and we went to the room and said "hello"and talked for a little while, and everyone in the industry was talking about (marlon brando) this phenomenon on the screen that had never been seen before, but he was always about the craft and he asked that we go to dinner , we went the following evening with two friends of his and we came outside and he gave me a whack on my rear end and i turn around and give him a whack across his jaw and the next day a box of books arrived and they were all about acting ,singing, training, how an actor prepares and the phone rang and it was marlon he said "did you get" and i said "yes" and he said "i would like it very much if you catch the next train and get out of this town go back to nyc and focus on your work and take these books with you "and that was very good advice.
