I like that he called the racism out, but unlike many bw I'm not cheering for as a "win" (if such a thing even existed) for bw. She's white passing. It's been rumored for a while that he was in to dating black women, but nobody expected him to go public with any of them. I believe at one point he was dating a black woman who was full black and wouldn't have passed the paper bag test.

I'm the same way. I'm not trying to bring any "colorism" issues on here but let's be honest. I've been part of the Royal threads in LSA for awhile and a lot of heavy tea has been spilled on him both there and other royal forums. He's dated dark skinned black sistahs before in secret. It's just a little disappointing that when he finally comes out with a black girlfriend, it's a light skinned one. I don't care about the battle between light skin/dark skin. I consider mixed people still black so that has never bothered me. It's Harry's specific behavior that's a little bit weird. Of course, maybe those other relationships weren't that serious (although one of the girls was rumoured to be serious). I like Meghan on Suits and she seems nice, educated and hard working. I wish them the best. A lot of people back on the forums don't think they'll get married due to 1. her race 2. her occupation. Meghan will have to give up a lot if she wants a serious relationship with Harry.

I think it sucks how much you have to give up or put aside when you're in a relationship with high profile people. Couldn't be me, no matter how much I loved the man.

I agree. I couldn't do it either. Especially a royal. You have to give up your entire career and subject your wants and needs to the service of the crown. Everything you do, say and wear is controlled. Same with celebrities, who can't even eat in peace. That's not a life I'd like to live.
