I really could've done without Bella in that video. I'm going to admit...I didn't really like or understand how the black woman was portrayed in the video but I see both sides. I don't think Zayn was thinking that far in terms of his use of the black woman/Bella but you know how some people are. The song is alright. It's growing on me. I'm more excited to hear the song that was in his Fader interview. Now that is a unique sound! This kind of pop sound was needed for his first single.

Who is Bella? The way the Black woman was portrayed was confusing because she was the only one(?) naked with spikes on her. Black Twitter (and I, not gonna lie) went crazy over it all the same because of this scene (NSFW) It goes along with the whole "aesthetic" hipster trend out now. In terms of the song? I lost my shit when I heard it because it sounded amazing and I was really happy for him. It's pop, but as people have repeatedly said here and on other sites: it will help him cross over while grabbing the remaining 1D/pop fans he had before. |

She is also Zayn's real life GF. Some mad with the way Gigi was portrayed in comparison to the other black woman. While I was a bit unsure of the black woman's portrayal, I don't exactly the way Gigi was portrayed. I mean, she's his gf, what did people expect? That he'd be kissing up on the black girl while his actual gf just stood pretty? But I hate this whole "hipster, cool" aesthetic that's out there. I want the music videos to make sense dammit! :arrogant:
