I'm really sick of black men and women trying to police the way the opposite gender (and sometimes the same gender) wears their hair or clothing. You have black men (and sometimes black women) telling black women to stop wearing weave, stop peeking your hair, go natural, stop doing blow outs because if you alter your hairs natural pattern or wear weave some how that signals to white Americans that you don't love yourself; thus thu won't respect you (us). You have black women (and sometimes black men) telling black men to stop wearing baggy clothing or to stop wearing skinny jeans because "that's not how real men dress". If we can't dress in a way that shows we respect ourselves white america wont respect us either.
These are just two examples, of course we can list more in terms of how women dress or dance. The point here is it's all respectability politics, and really is divisive and serves no positive purpose within the community. Furthermore, you might see a man dressed in baggy or skinny attire, but he very well could be a professional on his day off. He could be well educated. On the flip side, you might meet a woman with a perm who is more "woke", self aware, etc than one rocking a fro.
Stop telling each other how to dress, dance, wear hair styles, etc.
