MelaninMonroeLol yeah, they are long. And really really detailed. But gooooooddddd I just get lost in them and the entire universe GRRM has made. I've got so much A Song of Ice and Fire related merchandise it's unhealthy. I'm crocheting myself a damn Stark banner and will probably make a Targaryen one too. Sean Bean is who you're talking about. He played Ned. He's so daddy sexy, omg. I'd hit. And yeah, Jon Snow is supposed to be out his element and learning the world is not black and white like he thought so he's constantly in a state of "idkwhati'mdoing" lol. Kit does a good job of making him look as confused as he always is. "You know nothing Jon Snow".

Girl not even the books. They look so incredibly long. Yeah the shows are pretty long! Lol your bae stay looking confused on that show from what I've seen. I thought the dad was kind of cute...the one in the beginning who got killed. And Admin how are you able to use those emojis? Click in the reply bar. Since they are custom emoji, you'll have to go to the actual full Reply page to see them correctly. On mobile, you pretty much have to wing it and type out whatever code is assigned to the emoji/smiley you are looking for. I tried to make the codes easy, hopefully they are to you guys! Edit: Thanks for letting me know. I have never watched or read Game of Thrones. This reminds me that I actually like the Twilight books, but cannot really stand the movies (even though I watch them all the time!)

What is GoT by the way? :arrogant: I have no idea what is being talked about. Admin Drizzy is my problematic light skin bae. I'm ashamed. Most of the time lmao.
Crocheting is lots of fun. It's also made me a bit of change so that's always good. I'm not quite good enough to make some of the things I queue on Ravelry but I'm working on it. I'm mostly good with beanies and scarves. I used to be an avid fanfic writer. Work and whatnot made me stop and it's been a while since I've been inspired to write anything. But I've seen the new Star Wars movie and I already have ships I want to read about and write about so there's that. Plus, there's several fics I've been trying to write for years I need to get down before I'm decrepit lol Let me call Drake and let him know you're out of line. When you improve in skill, maybe you can open your own business online! A few ladies at this Black business fest in my area sell things they have made from hand and they are really cute! What kind of fanfic or ships are you interested in? I was a fan of Benedict Cumberbatch for a while after seeing Star Trek: Into Darkness, and let me tell you..STID has the best fan fiction I have ever read. No other fan fic based on movies (or anything!) can trump the authors in that category. There was one story that I need to go back and read all over again because I didn't finish, now that I remember. I want to see Star Wars too for Baby Denzel John Boyega and The Goddess Lupita! xosnmxo Making jewelry is always fun. I should try getting back into that, even if it's just me buying one of those kits they make for little girls. Those always have cute stuff for a cheap price. I'm right along with you on finding new hobbies! I feel the exact same way about music! I actually have some books that study music's psychological affects. I'm really excited to delve into that. I love when the lyrics are like poetry because of the challenge that lies in unraveling said lyrics. I do with old school music and a lot more indie music of nowadays. I have been getting into 80s music a little bit more. Nope, I haven't taken any art classes since middle school, and those were part of the curriculum. I'm self taught for the most part. I would love to have a studio to work in. I didn't even know Michael's had art classes! I would love to check those out. Ch--I would love to gain some more weight, especially muscle. I'm really into this fitness site GMB Fitness which is basically about bodybuilding and using her own body weight to create muscle. Yoga is nice because I can really do it anywhere. Yeah, I need to tone up as well. I hate being "soft" but I'm just so lazy... Yes, history! I just stocked up on some really good books on Italian History. I blame Assassins Creed I'm a firm believer that music affects the mind/generations, just as much as media and imagery, if not more. Music has been a part of human life probably damn near since our inception, so of course it would have a bigger impact. You know a song that is like poetry to me because of how beautiful it is? "As" by Stevie Wonder. When I listen to the song, I feel like he's singing to a lover and the ancestors. Stevie has a way of infusing spirituality and love into his songs that not many other people have. Indie music is becoming my thing too! I like alternative R&B, so usually the artists Kelela, Jessy Lanza, inc., and SANGO pop up on my Pandora list. I had an art class in middle school and hated it because it was fine art, which isn't a particular interest of mine (in terms of actually doing it myself), and there wasn't really any creative freedom or flexibility. Are you thinking about having your own art business? That would be nice to have a studio and put all your work in, or hold classes and seminars. I'm not sure if they all have them, but in my area of California at least three of them do. I'd like to be kind of thick around my lower half, but I'm am the tiniest bit high-waisted, so I'm not sure if being anything other than slim/skinny would fit me. I do have a few curves though. I'll check that out for sure! I have a really bad sweet tooth so I could use some tips on how to eat right instead of stuffing my face with chocolate (my weakness). :friends: Lazy heauxs united! Are you a gamer? I'm interested in that myself, and getting into the GTA series. Right now I am trying to teach myself about Black history, particularly 1910s-1970s Black history. There is so much I don't know! I completely agree. I'll take a listen to it! I listen to a lot of Stevie Wonder growing up and as I got older and really listened to his music, I began to understand a bit more the meaning behind them and the symbolism within them. I like listening to the songs I grew up on, noticing things within the music I didn't notice before. I LOVE Kelela! Also this African artist named Asa. I also love Lianne La Havas. That's dumb. No creative freedom...in an art class? The irony. I was lucky enough to have an art teacher who was very passionate in art and really allowed us to go wild. One of my first ever pieces was with glass and seeing what I could do with that really inspired me further. I'm thinking of selling my art one day. Who knows, maybe I'll open a gallery. I've found it cool but labeled it a pipe dream. I love writing and I am a writer so infuse that with art would be very interesting. I live in Texas so I'll check. There has to be something good around this state.
Me too :shame: I'm already bigger on my lower half but it's subtle. I'm sure it would fit, it depends on body types and proportions I guess. You're reminding me I should go get some chocolate right now actually. I haven't eaten anything sweet in 2016...that should be a crime!
When I get an xbox I will be. I want to get into GTA series and AC. I honestly don't know anymore games beyond a few others. I'm to re-educate myself on world history. Also African history. Beyond the stories passed down to me from family and experiences, I don't know much else.

My grandma raised me on old school music, so that's all I am really interested in. Lately I have been getting into listening to full albums, and Stevie Wonder + Michael Jackson's and Marvin Gaye's have been on the top of the list. These men have made some extraordinary music that cannot be duplicated or considered overrated in my honest opinion. There's a lot of symbolism in MJ's music and short films/videos, so you have to figure it out yourself. That's something that slightly irritates me, because there were/are times I wish he would have just gone out and said what he had to say. But the message is clear all the same. Do you know how to pronounce Kelela's name correctly? I can't at all I keep pronouncing it how it is spelled. I will be sure to add Asa and Lianna La Havas to my list. Are they alternative R&B? Speaking of which, Vanessa Williams' daughter (I cannot remember her name right now) is in a duet group called Lion Babe and they sing alt R&B. The Internet is good too, and I think they are nominated for a GRAMMY award this year. The art teacher we had was mainly an English teacher, and in my personal experience, English teachers don't seem to be the most creative. If anyone here is an English teacher or knows one: you/they are special. You're not like the others. I can't even remember the first art pieces I did, but I've been drawing and painting since I was little. In first grade the district had some kind of contest, and my piece was put into the show or something like that so I got an award. I stopped being as creative as I was in seventh grade, so I am trying to get that back. Does Texas have a big art market? If not, you could start it yourself and have an easier time making a name for yourself (if that is what you want). You're making me want to go to an art museum (or museum, period) right now! I haven't been to one in so long! No no! Don't eat chocolate! I didn't mean to influence you :shame: But maybe we can go to some chocolate addiction group and get help XD Is XBox your preferred system? I haven't ever really had a game system, just three Nintendo DS models, a GameCube (which flopped), a GBA, and some other Nintendo crap. I don't know why I have always gotten their products, it is just kind of automatic. I have always wanted to get into PlayStation/Sony, but then I get sidetracked by The Sims or something. It's the same on my end, and even that "history" is pretty sparse. If I ever have children, that's the first history they're going to learn about. I think I might even try homeschooling them. That seems to work out for a lot of babies these days. Admin I've always sang. I took choir in high school, but outside of that I haven't been trained. I would like to get a vocal coach but ehh. My bank account and schedule isn't setup for that. I'm so jealous! I wish I had pipes because sometimes I just wanna have a duet with Luther or Aretha, and I end up sounding like a tortured whale. :anger: My dream is to be Mariah Carey 2.0, but the way my voice is set up.. Can you do high notes? I have heard a lot of people say that if you can't sing, go to choir (as a child) and you'll be pretty good in time. Vocal coaches are very expensive, for sure. Have you tried looking on YouTube for free lessons or tutorials? Or maybe try looking for groups or forums about singing and bands?

I can hit high notes. I don't remember my octave range because the last time I had someone sit at a piano with me and go through them as I hit notes was in high school. My favorite song to sing in high school was Emotions by Mariah Carey (at home).
I have used YouTube tutorials from time to time. I try to do it while I'm in my car because I live in an apt and idk what my neighbors can hear or not hear.
Idk about joining a band...I have thought about going to a studio or something to record. I'm really shy when it comes to singing though so idk. I haven't sang in front of people since high school.

Have you ever thought about singing professionally or is it more of a hobby for you?
My mom used to sing long before I was born. I've never heard her sing though. Same for my aunt who had a career in Hollywood once upon a time. That's one reason I dislike apartments, though they are the most convenient - you never know how thick or thin the walls are, so you can't scream, play music, or even talk at certain times because the whole neighborhood might hear you!
I didn't actually mean join a band! X) I meant maybe you should try to find a forum that caters to band, which is essentially other singers and musicians in one place, instead of just a site for singers. That way you could get more input from composers, arrangers, etc. I'm really shy too. What made you stop singing in public?

Have you tried looking on YouTube for free lessons or tutorials? Or maybe try looking for groups or forums about singing and bands? Maybe MJ did that because he knew only people who truly listen to his music and try to understand would see the message clearly. I wanted to be a singer when I was younger so I was exposed to all types of music. Choral music, rock/classical (due to my ex), Reggae/Naija music from my parents, I went through an alternative/grunge phase so all my friends listened to that and surprisingly, my white vocal coach was into jazz/blues and would always push me to listen to it more.
I say Kuh-lay-luh. Maybe it's Kel-lay-la but I'm sticking with the first one :arrogant: Hmm Asa can be a bit Alternative R&B. Congrats to them first of all. Let me just add this to my list.... lol
Oh look at you racking up awards. I never put my art out there when I was younger and I need to start doing that. If I can put my writing out there, why not my art? I had the weirdest English teacher in high school. Just eccentric as hell and I think he had a crush on me. Ole nasty self.
Well I live near Houston and there's a lot of museums and galleries but there's only two big ones and the rest are pretty small. I think I could find a way to fit there. I don't plan on staying in Houston long however so it wouldn't be in this city.
Too late! :arrogant: I'm getting chocolate. The Walgreens near me has those huge chocolate bars so...yeah, I'm going to need that support group. I've heard people rave about xbox. Is playstation better? I don't know anything about it lol. I haven't played on a Nintendo in forever and Sims frustrates my life
I remember begging my parents to be homeschooled. I don't know if I'll homeschool my children. There is a lot of whitewashing going on in these schools nowadays however. The first I want my kids to learn is the Yoruba language. That is a must.

AdminI didn't have an outlet to sing in public once I graduated high school. I like to think of myself as being artistic. Whether I am good at all of the things that fall under the art umbrella doesn't matter...if I had the time and the money I would take classes all the time...music classes (I want to learn to play the piano), painting, pottery, I'd probably just have an art studio and have people come to me. I would love to get a vocal coach.... Anyway...that was a rant that I guess had nothing to do with what you asked lol. I'm really really shy, and introverted...I've always been shy about people hearing me sing. And I'm not very confident in my singing I guess....people have told me I sound good, but I'm often compared to what I consider to be weak singers...everyone can't sing like Whitney or brandy...but I don't want to be told I sound like Amerie. You know what else? I really would like to do a photo shoot with a photographer. I don't know what I want the shoot to look like...maybe old black Hollywood. I consider modeling to be an art form too...some pictures are just so beautiful. I have a lot of interests, but I don't have the money or time to do them. Lol

Lol You and I have a lot of the same interests for sure! I am interested in learning how to play piano myself, and wish my parents had put me into those classes, or at least kept me in dance, growing up. Are there any other instruments you would like to learn how to play? I think guitar would be #2 for me. An old Black Hollywood shoot would be awesome! I'd love to see something like that! If someone could pay tribute to Pearl Bailey and Dorothy Dandridge, two phenomenal women, I would be so happy! And the last line? You and I are practically twins! I enjoy being on my laptop, listenin to music preferably old school R&B, reading (i've been slipping), Crocheting, watching old sitcoms and cartoons (90s cartoons was lit) and playing videogames. I like being on my computer to. Is there anything you like to do on it in particular? I've been trying to teach myself how to design/code websites from scratch. Not too good at it, but at the very least I can read code and throw together a site theme like this one. CodeAcademy is a pretty good way to learn, but I could not get the hang of JavaScript at all. Old school music is the best in my opinion. It's really all I can stomach listening to. Which video games do you like to play? I love DIY crafts. Michael's, Home Goods, and thrift stores are my favorites. I love restoring old tables, chairs, and nightstands. I also really love to do crochet and make my own creams/butters :yay!: My aunt used to go to thrift stores all the time, and I kid you not she would come back with some designer/authentic stuff that she bought for under half the price of retail! I need to find out which shops she was dipping into. I think around my area we just have Home Goods is another craft store, right? I have heard of it in passing, but I don't think they have a lot of them in my area. Restoring furniture sounds neat! How did you learn how to do that?

AdminThe guitar would be fun and the flute. I can play the clarinet, but I need a new one or have mine repaired. I found a pianist that leaves close by but he/she requires that you have an actual piano and not a keyboard (I would have gotten a keyboard). I was like wtf? Idk what they charge though, I think that's dumb though, keyboards are cheaper than pianos so more people would have one. I hope I win the powerball so I can invest more time in my hobbies lmao. :-D

Keyboards are also easier to transport, so that requirement is a bit strange to me as well. I'm sure it has something to do with sound or authenticity, but still..I've never thought about playing the flute or clarinet before, but I have been a little interested in the saxophone. My music/PE teacher in elementary school got me interested because I think he used to play. I'm hoping you win the Powerball too! Haha! Good luck! blackonblack
